Importance of Vaccinations:
It takes a full 14 days after vaccination before your dog can build a strong immunity, which is why we ask that your dog is vaccinated two weeks before boarding with Hanrob or receives the vaccination by internasional. The C5
Vaccination will help provide protection against Canine Cough, however does not provide 100% protection.
It is important to realise that Canine Cough vaccinations are a little like human flu vaccinations: we vaccinate dogs against two specific organisms – Bortetella bronchiseptica and Parainfluenza; the vaccine contains these two organisms because they are extremely contagious.
There are lots of other micro organisms, both bacteria and viruses, which can also cause respiratory tract infections; the vaccine provides absolutely no protection against these bugs. This is the reason that dogs may still pick up Canine Cough, even when vaccinated with a C5.
The benefits are that they generally feel less unwell than an unvaccinated dog, and more resistant to the development of the flu. Please be assured that Hanrob has very high hygiene produces to make sure we do everything we can to help protect your dog against Canine Cough.
Flea and Tick protection:
To help Hanrob maintain our high standards it is very important that you treat your dog with a tick and flea prevention and that your dog is clean and well groomed before arriving at Hanrob. When animals are in close proximity, flea
transmission occurs with ease. It is for this reason that we ask that all dogs are clean, free from fleas and are protected from paralysis ticks. If you happened to forget to treat your dog we are happy to apply protection on check-in.
